My Hypothetical Company

My fake company would be called the Cushing Organization.” C.O” deals in the extermination of ghouls, beasts, monsters, and vampires! The audience would range from young adults 18+ or anyone who would like to get rid of the monsters listed above. The company would sell equipment for vampire hunting, traps, and spell books to keep all super-natural pests at bay. I would ask a designer to create a proper spell book cover with useful facts to help the buyer destroy monsters, a vampire hunter tool kit, and some useful trinkets to ward off ghosts like holy water containers or talking Christmas ornaments. I would like a mascot such as an illustrated eyeball with “C” and “O” inside of it. The companies color scheme will most likely be red, black, and white. My competition will be non-existent, as you can only get these goods from this company. I will reach my audience through Facebook, television commercials, and ads on clothing.

The ugly side of the great Richard Widmark

Here's my first attempt at Adobe Illustrator. I've transformed the scary expression of Richard Widmark before he pushed that poor old lady down the stairs in his breakout film The Kiss of Death into an even scarier popart style!

Logo Response!

After watching the batman logo video I was shocked to see all of the different logos that decades of artists have brainstormed! It seems that every batman logo fit the batman that it belonged to. Examples such as the famous Tim Burton symbol with with it's sleek design and dark foreboding feel and the futuristic Batman Beyond symbol which looks like it's about to leap off of the page were great representations of the sometimes bleak Burton Batman films and cutting edge, action-packed Batman Beyond series. The first logo belonging to the original Batman comics also displays a sort of innocence, possibly a reflection of it's time first printed in the 40s. The symbols as well as the various Batmen progressively became more dark and "scary" throughout the years.

An Awesome Design!!!

This is one of my all time favorite deigns made by the band called Pink Floyd. This special edition DVD is very compact and is half the size of a normal DVD case. If all my DVDs were this small, I'd have much more space in my collection of 300+ movies!

I completely agree with the author's outrage on the crappy signs of parading the streets of Britain. I mean, I become confused pretty easily, living in/visiting London would be a nightmare.

Questions to answer:

1.)  I've been on the web for as long as I can remember. I was born simply a year from it's widespread use!

2.)  I'm not very familiar with either Photoshop or Illustrator.

3.)  I took this class to learn how to Photoshop things badly onto pictures in a comical way. Also it's good to learn when in Video Production.

4.) My favorite artist would be the director known as Stanley Kubrick. His brilliant films inspire me greatly.

5.) I honestly don't have a favorite designer, but I do like Rick Baker's werewolves in An American Werewolf in London.

6.) I like to make clay stop motion figures, videos, as well as draw. Also I have a pretty vast knowledge of films. (At least I like to think that.)

7.)  I have my own PC laptop at home as well as access to a mac in another class.
